Here's another recent study on the potential trade off or rebound from (autonomous) Taxis / Uber cars as they make people switch from public transportation by bus or train to additional cars on the road: https://www.scinexx.de/news/technik/mehr-staus-durch-uber-und-co/
Nevertheless, it is also interesting to note that Tesla is taking their cars back after leasing in order to establish a fleet of SDVs in competition to Uber.
