I wonder why a higher gold price should lead directly to more profit from other financial products? Maybe if trading gold is included with 'other' financial products. Or do I miss something else?

Just heard on BBC that the Baltic Dry Index is on its long time low indicating a slowdown of the world economy (though it should also be influenced by the low oil prices)
